To change any of your profiles , from any webpage you browsing in alleppeytown.com  click the click the user name on the top left corner of the ash colored menu and select the option to  edit the profile .

What ever options you have given when you created during the registration process and mode can be modified on the profile pages except changing your user name . Take this time to fill all the revelevent information about you including the first and last name , your website address , your instant messenger details and so on and fill the Biographical Info in your own way . Note that the Biographical Info you are going to fill will appear on the footer of each article you are going to write .

If you wish to change the password there is an option to do it also .

What is Avatar and How can I add my own avatar to my profile ?

According to wikipedia  ”An avatar is the graphical representation of the user or the user’s alter egoor character ” . put it simply it is a small icon you adding to your profile to represent you . The image in the icon can be your photo or any picture  you wish to exhibit to represent you. we personally encorage you to use your own close up photo as your avatar to add a personal touch to your post . Please aviod uploading the pictures of some celebrity as your avatar ….. ” Be yourself”

But you will be confused about adding the avatar as you will not find any option to add any image in your profile page . We are using  a  worldwide used service to add avatar in which you have to create your account for your avatars to show up in your profile .

visit http://en.gravatar.com/ to register your email id with gravatar . make sure you register the same e-mail id you used in AlleppeyTown.com  with the Gravatar service so that the avatar witll be visible with your profile. once you activated your account with gravatar.com , the picture will be automatically visible in your details as it is visible in the bottom of this post . When ever you wish to change avatar simply login to your  gravatar.com account and change the profile . It will be visible here
